Dark Circles Around Eyes

Restylane for Under Eye
Depression and Dark Circles
What causes the depression and Dark Circles Around Eyes?

Similar to other medical conditions of the human body the sunken area under the eyes is a multi-factorial condition. An individual’s anatomy is one factor. Aging, drop of the cheek mass, and fluctuation in weight are some of the other factors. Chronic rubbing and irritant chemicals can render the area darker. The lack of fullness over the bony frame of the eye results in the seemingly sunken area. Just like a frame points out an entity, the so-called depressed dark circles can make one look tired, and a lot older than the individual actually is.

How to mitigate the dark circles and sunkenness under eyes?

Restoring the fullness seems to be the most direct and rational route. A filling material that is composed of naturally occurring chemicals in the human body would be ideal. It would be great if the filler induced one’s own skin-fullness to be semipermanent to age with the person. It would be fantastic if the filler was easily and safely dissolvable. The minimally invasive procedure of injecting Restylane in a sculpting manner has all the desired properties to plump the sunken area under the eye so that the contour of the face looks fuller and younger.

How long does the Restylane under the eyes last?

There is no definitive answer for this question. The longevity of the Restylane that is placed in the depressed rims around the eyes depends primarily on how many times the filler has been injected at the site. Because the muscle that is under our eyes moves minimally, the time between Restylane injections ranges from six to 12 months for the first round. Over time, less of the filler is needed to produce noticeable results, and each time it is injected, it will last longer.

Restylane is a unique form of non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a polymerized sugar molecule that is embedded around collagen fibers in our skin. Because we have the identical molecule in our own skin, allergic reactions are very infrequent. As a result of further purification of Restylane of its bacterial source, allergic or immune reactions toward it are almost unheard of as of late. Restylane is made in Sweden. FDA approved it for cosmetic use in the United States in 2003.
